Throughout her career, Anita has specialized in risk management and data analytics, making her a trusted advisor to leading financial institutions.

​

As an Independent Consultant since October 2021, Anita has been focused on credit risk system implementation for cloud transitions. Involved in all aspects of projects, from gathering and writing requirements to developing technical designs and establishing control frameworks. Her work has included writing code and implementing multiple models using the SAS Viya Risk Engine to support AIRB model execution. Anita collaborates with clients at all levels, delivering presentations, training, and comprehensive documentation.

Before her current role, Anita had a distinguished career at BMO in Toronto. From 2018 to 2021, she served as the Director and Lead Technology Officer for Credit and Operational Risk. In this capacity, she led teams responsible for the development and enhancement of Credit and Operational Risk infrastructures, ensuring BMO’s risk measurement, monitoring, and control practices met high standards. She managed the overall scope and prioritization of initiatives, collaborated with Risk and Bank Architecture teams, and coordinated with other technology teams to maintain consistency and efficiency.

From 2012 to 2018, Anita was the Senior Manager of Business Initiatives at BMO Risk Capital and Stress Testing. She led a team of analysts providing first-line support to business areas, identifying enhancements to improve operational effectiveness, and ensuring regulatory compliance. She played a key role in implementing the SAS Credit Risk Management System for the US and Enterprise Stress Testing, developing reporting and analysis packages, and mentoring SAS users at all levels.

Anita’s earlier experience includes her role as a Senior Programming Analyst at BMO, and her tenure at CIBC as a Database Analyst. At CIBC, she designed and developed the Regulatory Capital Calculator and Economic Capital Calculator, significantly reducing processing time and enhancing data integrity.

Anita’s technical proficiency spans a wide range of tools and environments. Her expertise in risk management, combined with her leadership and mentoring skills, has enabled her to lead and develop teams of analysts and developers effectively. She is proficient in engaging with all stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication, making her an invaluable asset to any project.
